One thing could do with altering and that's henchmen disappearing when you warp from town to town.
I remember it happening in prophesies quite a bit, esp annoying when the hero is available in the town your going to.
The Brawler is available in Lions Arch Bergen hot springs and Beetleton.
Warp about between them and he keeps getting lost.
Similar things happen elsewhere.
Anyway it looks like Henchmen are just leftover from GWs early days if they thought it worthwhile Heroes would have replaced them already.
The future seems to be summoning stones, which is a great solution to the disappearing party member.
Many have requested that a hero or henchman replace a player that disappears mid mission.
Summoning stones solves that very neatly, or will when there are more of them and they work at 20th level.

i didnt read your hole wall of text but i will say this and that is nightfall has heros because that was the new feature and selling point for that game.
also the removal of henchmen or heroes is a bad idea wich will just lead to more flame threads, allot of people are attached to henchman and heroes, and lots of fan fiction has been written.
other then that i like the idea.

In most cases, heroes have replaced henchmen. Either half the henchmen are gone, or people party with another person and that person leaves to give the party 1 person and 6 heroes. Done a lot of times and simply doing what I suggest would allow the many people who do the 6 hero thing to be able to continue with things a lot easier.

The golem stones work at lvl 20 >.> But yes, it does seem that the summoning stones are the "future." I think the summoning stones are a test for how to bring about the "companion" in GW2 with the persistent areas. Can't really leave town with henchmen or heroes like in GW1.

And I for one find it rather crude that Nightfall and Eye of the North have heroes while those who only have Prophecies and/or Factions cannot gain them. It limits what they can do alone and not everyone can go out and buy a new game.

Flame threads, complaining threads, all are impossible to avoid. Sadly. Those who use henchmen would support this idea. Those who don't can stick to pugs and guild groups. They bring heroes to fill empty spots now anyways, so it doesn't matter too much.

Well I'm very sorry to those people who wrote about Koss and Melonni's wammo baby.

Never said you didn't know what heroes and henchmen were for. I was just stating that sooner or later, people will stop caring, no matter what happens, there will be flames and "QQ" threads. Even M.O.X. got them, before and after release. And for the price, that pretty much depends on your location and the store. EN can be bought for that much easily, but not so much Nightfall.
